CASA “Safety Seminars”

The following has been released for seminars in 2014.

The last para says it all –

The presentations are based on the content of the CASA website.

and:

Demonstrate and reinforce your professionalism and safety culture by attending a CASA AvSafety seminar in 2014.

I don’t think that the seminars will “assist”, as the last few seminars I have attended have the “presenters” refuse to answer questions or develop where the “regs” are going, or even if they apply to what we all do.

The next thing we will see is, further to the collection of names prior, is a requirement of “seminar going” to avoid a “fine”.

Attention all pilots … 2014 AvSafety Seminars

Safety Matters

CASA Aviation Safety Advisors will be delivering the new AvSafety Seminar series Safety Matters in 2014.
Seminars this year will include:

  • The latest information on Regulatory Reform.
  • Topics relating to the latest safety trends identified by CASA, Airservices and ATSB (Where possible, Airservices or ATSB personnel will also attend).
  • Information about the new interactive education programs and resources available online to help keep you safe in the air and on the ground.

Aero clubs and other aviation organisation are welcome to run AvSafety seminars with ASAs presenting. However, CASA will not be supporting the events financially beyond reasonable operating costs.
The seminars will offer opportunities for discussion on operator and individual obligations, as well as to ask questions, share knowledge and raise issues relating to regulatory change.
March seminars are being held at:

  • Innisfail
  • Jabiru
  • Cooma
  • Katherine
  • Port Macquarie
  • Derby
  • Broken Hill
  • Point Cook
  • Coffs Harbour

Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) sessions

Dedicated PBN sessions will also be held in Adelaide on 28 February, Tullamarine on 11 March, Perth on 8 April and Brisbane on 27 May. Information delivered will be of great value to aircraft operators, pilots, manufacturers and maintenance organisations and will include an overview of CAO 20.91 (instructions and directions for PBN) and CAO 20.18 (aircraft equipment – basic operational requirements), the concept of PBN, GNSS and ADS-B equipment requirements, impending deadlines, and the impact on airspace/route design.
Get details of the performance-based navigation information sessions and register ASAP because places are limited.
